Flood Advisory

Effective: Saturday, August 6, 2022 - 5:07am to 8:15am

Alert:
...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR THE ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County.

* WHEN...Until 815 AM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 506 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over portions of Windward Oahu. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Waikane, Kaaawa, Waiahole, Punaluu, Kahaluu, Hauula, Kahana Valley State Park and Kualoa. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 815 AM HST if flooding persists.

A Flood Advisory, previously called an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory, means nuisance flooding is occurring or imminent.

Warning Instruction:
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding.

Unmonitored lands and waters in the impact area described in the alert will also be impacted.

If conditions change before expiration or the event needs to be extended, an update or cancellation will be issued from Hawaii Beach Safety Website.
