...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR NORTH AND WEST FACING SHORES OF NIIHAU KAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI AND NORTH FACING SHORES OF MAUI...

.Large surf will continue today, then lower below advisory levels tonight through Saturday.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST THIS EVENING...

* SURF...12 to 18 feet along north and west facing shores of Kauai and Niihau and north facing shores of Oahu, Molokai and Maui. 8 to 12 feet along west facing shores of Oahu and Molokai.

* TIMING...through 6 PM HST today.

* IMPACTS...Moderate...Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.
Description:

A High Surf Advisory is issued when waves reach threshold criteria for a particular island and shoreline.

Instruction:
Large breaking surf, significant shorebreak, and dangerous currents make entering the water very hazardous. Anyone entering the water could face significant injury or death.

Unmonitored lands and waters in the impact area described in the alert will also be impacted.

If conditions change before expiration or the event needs to be extended, an update or cancellation will be issued from Hawaii Beach Safety Website.
