Flash Flood Warning


Effective: Thursday, November 8, 2018 - 11:44pm to Friday, November 9, 2018 - 1:30am

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 AM HST FOR THE ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY... At 1138 PM HST...rainfall over windward Oahu has subsided and stream levels have dropped, but local law enforcement reported Kamehameha Highway remains closed near Waikane due to water over the road. Locations in the warning include but are not limited to... Ahuimanu, Waikane, Waiahole, Kaneohe, Kahaluu, Kaaawa and Punaluu. This warning may need to be extended beyond 130 AM HST if heavy rain persists.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is occurring or will develop quickly.

A flash flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring in streams, roads, and low lying areas. Move to higher ground now. Do not cross fast flowing water in your vehicle, or on foot. Turn around, don`t drown.

Unmonitored lands and waters in the impact area described in the alert will also be impacted.

If conditions change before expiration or the event needs to be extended, an update or cancellation will be issued from Hawaii Beach Safety Website.
