Alert:
...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF KAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI MAUI AND THE BIG ISLAND...

.A fading pulse from the northeast combined with the strong and gusty trade winds will keep the surf slightly elevated along the east facing shores today.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST THIS EVENING...

* SURF...Along east facing shores, 6 to 8 feet.

* TIMING...Through 6 PM HST today.

* IMPACTS...Moderate...Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.
Description:

A High Surf Advisory is issued when waves reach threshold criteria for a particular island and shoreline.

Instruction:
Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution. Know your limits; when in doubt, do not go out.

Unmonitored lands and waters in the impact area described in the alert will also be impacted.

If conditions change before expiration or the event needs to be extended, an update or cancellation will be issued from Hawaii Beach Safety Website.
