Effective: Wednesday, February 14, 2018 - 3:20am to Thursday, February 15, 2018 - 4:00pm

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR OAHU THROUGH TONIGHT...

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR MAUI COUNTY THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

.A low pressure system approaching the islands from the northwest will bring the threat of slow-moving bands of showers, with embedded heavy rain.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON... The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Kahoolawe, Lanai, Maui and Molokai.

* Through Thursday afternoon.

* An area of low pressure will approach from the northwest, spreading slow-moving bands of showers, and possibly a thunderstorm, to Maui county.

* Conditions will become increasingly conducive for the development of heavy showers and possibly thunderstorms, especially tonight and Thursday. The showers will affect urban and leeward areas as well as lower elevations, which are more susceptible to flooding problems.
Description:

A Flash Flood Watch means heavy rain leading to flash flooding is possible.

Warning Instruction:
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Unmonitored lands and waters in the impact area described in the alert will also be impacted.

If conditions change before expiration or the event needs to be extended, an update or cancellation will be issued from Hawaii Beach Safety Website.
